iOS & Android GIS

The smart phone and tablet revolution has provided yet another way to access and use GIS. You can publish map services that can be acessed by the public or a more restricted group of users such as your clients or internal staff only. Since these devices already contain a GPS, a high-res screen display, a camera and wireless Internet, all you add is a mobile app and the map!

GIS organizations can publish operational layers and build user-friendly maps for the free ESRI app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Not only can you see what is happening with your GIS, but you can view yourself right on top of the map! This enables a wide variety of mobile applications and users are already familiar with the tool and the interface. Literally millions of smart phones and tablets are out there and they can all play GIS.

We can help deploy these powerful tools for your organization very quickly, as was done during the Deepwater Horizon Oil Disaster in 2010, when iPads and the app were brand new!

The examples below are from the Deepwater Horizon Oil Disaster, "Superstorm Sandy", a recent Pacific earthquake/tsunami and Hurricane Isaac.
